WEATHERBLOGGER WEEKEND 12th April

DISAPPOINTING weather prospect for the weekend

Local soaring in between showers at best and generally deteriorating for the next few days

HOWEVER - some signs of an improvement Monday or Tuesday and could be worth pencilling in a 'sickie' - Timing of fronts critical - as usual

AEROBATTERS

Difficult to imagine conditions would be good for 'battin' - time to fettle and make sure the dam wings are firmly bolted on- sorry 'Tailslide' looks like your feet are going to stay firmly on the ground and not above your head - Phaaa - a girl just can't have fun.......

TRAINING

check ride time - good practise at spinning - field landing checks in the Falke

WEATHERBLOGGER MONDAY 17th and 18th - UPDATE

TRAINING

O.K. for training and circuit planning/ currency practise - Learn how to deal with crosswind takeoffs and landings

CLOUDY

SYNOPSIS

Fears about damp North sea air are justified, likely to be cloudy with only 'some' sunshine and low cloudbase, weak thermals if lucky to 2500ft. The best of the weather restricted to the far South West and Wales.

AEROBATTERS

Limited opportunity for high tows and slightly stronger winds than at first thought, although quite manageable at around 12kts/2000ft Northerly - check 214 / 215s on the day

MOTOR GLIDERS

A couple of good days in prospect for 'check' rides and field landing practise. The Northerly wind will probably mean the 02 -20 runway. No excuses for not being current in field selection or being up to speed in map reading - NOTE - 300k lads (Peter)

PROTASK - Downgraded due to extensive cloud cover and very weak thermals - Best hope is for it to be better than forecast
No Task

OUTLOOK

Some improvement so 'may' get back to a '2+' day rating for Tuesday and possibly Wednesday

Next update THURSDAY and FRIDAY in time for the Bank Holiday weekend - fingers crossed
